I spent last night at my friend’s house bringing in the new year’s via cooking. Her clock is five minutes fast so we were “Happy New Year!”ing too early and then exchanged an awkward pause when cheers erupted from the neighbors. We cheered in the new year with champagne and a rather unsettling anime.
On a more upbeat news I filled out the paperwork today stating that I’ve officially been promoted! I start on the 17th. The list of responsabilites is very, very long which surprised me. I’m excited because this will double my monthly income. I intend on putting a large portion of it into savings. It also means my diabetic cat can get this month’s blood test done now.
The other exciting thing for today was my high school Latin teacher came through my line. We chattered away like birds until other customers came along. I’ve missed her though it doesn’t seem like time has passed at all.
