Stormy Night
I didn’t notice the storm at first. Then the thunder was rolling more dangerous and louder than the so-called thunderous roller coasters at Carowinds. Chii had torn my black out shade from the usual window so I could see bolts of white light penetrating the coding trance I was in.
At the height of the storm, I was able to heat my dinner in the kitchen without a light because the bolts flashed more steady and sure than a flickering light bulb. Outside the world was awashed in horror movie light as the source of the illumination was removed from the high, far off golden sun to intimately close by. Always close as another pounding drum marches towards you.
I set up my digital camera to film the storm and then sat in my mushroom chair as I ate dinner. A call to my boyfriend to confirm he was safely indoors since the storm was concentrated south of here, close to him.
It’s been a few hours now and the sky flashes in the distance, but most of this bizarre storm has passed eastwards.
