120 Minutes
I’m late for bed so a quick run down:
- Emails!
- A quick chat with two of the administrators. I’m always gaining valuable insights about the community when I talk to them. Several of my hunches were proved right.
- Helped out with the Tech Petting Zoo. I got called out on not being an iPad expert. We all quickly realized how flawed the iPad email design is.
- More emails!
- Lunch.
- Changed out the toner cartridge on a printer.
- Four hours on the Help Desk. I was kept so busy that I could not even begin to really scratch the surface of my work load. One patron was very kind to me which is exactly what I needed.
I am finding myself looking at the library with a very critical eye. I’m seeing where we are faltering and am thinking of ways to improve. For instance, we have different levels of membership. Only certain membership levels can check out our tech equipment. I’m going to run some reports to see what libraries are near the locations where most of our non-residents live. Then I’ll contact those libraries and try to set up a relationship where they’ll update me on their tech policies. I’ll then post the information on our website so non-residents can find out where they can obtain equipment and digital materials since they’re ineligible to access all of our resources.
